Summary

The job is for a Public Policy Counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland. The role involves developing and executing policy and legislative advocacy agendas, conducting legal research, drafting legislation, testifying in front of government bodies, and lobbying local and state legislators. The position is based in Baltimore, MD but can be remote during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate Degree
• A minimum of 3 to 7 years’ experience in a similar position

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization's policy and legislative advocacy agenda
• Conduct extensive legal and policy research and analysis
• Draft legislation, testify in front of government bodies, and lobby local and state legislators
