Summary

Join DISHER's contract engineering team as a Remote Procurement Specialist in Kalamazoo, MI. This role involves leveraging your purchasing and procurement expertise to manage and optimize supply chain processes for a medical device company. You will utilize project management skills to lead procurement projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Key responsibilities include reviewing part specifications, performing payback analyses, improving procurement operations, conducting purchasing studies, and creating cost comparisons. The ideal candidate possesses experience in medical device manufacturing, purchasing/procurement for manufacturing, project management, and cost forecasting.

Requirements

• Experience working with medical device assembly, production, and various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, or machining
• Previous experience within purchasing or procurement for manufacturing
• Exposure to project management and ability to autonomously operate in your role
• Ability to accurately forecast costs and needs before they arise

Responsibilities

• Review new part specifications and advise on procurement feasibility
• Perform payback analysis and other justifications to support purchasing and investment projects
• Improve and support new and existing procurement operations, methods, and processes for cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvements
• Conduct studies in purchasing operations to maximize workflow
• Create cost comparisons and return on investment calculations to assist in supplier selection and purchasing decisions
