Summary

The job is for a QA Automation Engineer at Sparta Commodities, a Swiss VC-backed scaleup with a global reach. Requirements

  • Strong experience with e2e automation testing frameworks, with at least two years of experience in Cypress or Playwright
  • Programming skills in at least one language (Java, Javascript, Python, etc.) with a good understanding of software fundamentals including software design and data structures
  • Experience with API testing, performance testing, and resilience testing
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • A QA mindset, with a focus on identifying corner cases and ensuring the highest quality products

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute e2e automated tests using Cypress or Playwright frameworks
  • Create automation strategies for complex environments to ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Conduct API testing to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of our software products
  • Perform performance and resilience testing to evaluate the scalability, efficiency, and robustness of our software products
  • Generate and maintain test data to support automated testing efforts
  • Gather and analyse automation metrics to assess the effectiveness of automation testing efforts
  • Perform risk analysis to identify potential issues and mitigate risks
  • Write clear and concise test plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Identify and report bugs and defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues
  • Continuously improve the testing process and identify areas for improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desirable foundation knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; and of streaming data services (Kafka - Amazon MSK)
  • Familiarity with software engineering tools and processes such as CI/CD, ticket tracking, version control systems, static analysis tools and code review process
