Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Animal Science...etc)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within the dietary supplement, food, pet product, pharma or medical device industry or equivalent
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and understanding of remote quality oversight
  • Proficiency in CAPA systems, root cause investigation, and quality data review
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Own the internal finished good batch release process, ensuring documentation completeness and alignment with internal requirements (including COA and test data review for escalations only)
  • Coordinate and track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) related to internal or CM-driven quality issues
  • Manage and execute training on quality systems, complaint processes, and quality standards
  • Prepare for and lead Monthly Quality Reviews, summarizing key trends, issues, and progress
  • Lead the Annual Product Quality Review process with support from cross-functional partners
  • Provide guidance on customer complaint responses and coordinate internally to ensure appropriate escalation and resolution
  • Conduct trend analysis of complaints and adverse events and develop response strategies
  • Lead and document quality event investigations, including issues stemming from CM operations, product deviations, or recalls
  • Manage CAPA follow-up, ensuring corrective actions are closed in a timely and effective manner
  • Support mock and real product recall activities, including documentation and internal coordination
  • Serve as a key Quality Assurance point of contact for Operations, Procurement, R&D, and Customer Experience teams
  • Support R&D trials or pilot batches by coordinating quality requirements, materials, and testing
  • Evaluate non-commercial materials for trial or alternate sourcing use
  • Maintain general quality and technical support across the business, including support for NASC Adverse Event Reporting System and quality awareness

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 111, 507 and/or pet industry best practices (NASC and AAFCO standards a plus)
