Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Software QA Tester, you will collaborate with SCRUM teams, develop test scenarios, perform root cause analysis, and partner with automation engineers. You will need at least three years of software QA testing experience in an Agile environment and a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, fluency in English and French, and experience with various testing tools and methodologies. Remote work in the Eastern time zone is available.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years software QA testing experience in an Agile development environment
• Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming, Mathematics/Analytics or related field or equivalent experience
• Ability to independently interpret requirements and technical specifications, translate into thorough test plans and test cases, and execute test cases
• Manual testing of desktop, web applications, APIs including the interactions with REST service endpoints through tools, such as Postman
• Experience with test management systems and bug-tracking systems such as JIRA
• Attention to detail, ability to follow test plans and scripts, and good management skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Willingness to work in the Eastern time zone remotely
• Fluent in English and French
• Experience in working with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SCRUM teams from the start of a sprint to deliver best-in-class technical solutions
• Develop test scenarios based on business requirements and designs for web applications and integration platforms
• Work with functional teams in reducing error rates and perform root cause analysis of errors/trends
• Partner with automation engineers to create a unified approach to automation across the team
• Collaborate as part of a development team by providing a customer viewpoint
• Make suggestions/contributions for the improvement of software testing/quality
• Contribute in meetings, Scrums, and other inter-team interactions
• Provide software and hardware capability assessments to outside departments
• Research and make recommendations to the group regarding new technology available and its proper application

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Python
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Experience with web application testing and tools such as TestComplete
• Experience with API testing and tools such as REST Assured
• Experience with performance testing and tools such as JMeter
• Knowledge of SQL databases
• Working knowledge of the following technologies: Text processing, Regular Expressions, knowledge of processing variety of documents
• CAT Tools such as: memoQ, SDL, Memsource
• Desire to develop professional skills through continued training and educational opportunities
• AWS Cloud Applications and Services Testing
• Fluent in Arabic, Spanish or other languages
