Summary

Join PsiQuantum's Quantum Solutions team as a Quantum Solutions Manager, Research. This role focuses on advancing cutting-edge quantum applications for fundamental research, working with internal and external collaborators. You will shape and deliver research initiatives, particularly in lattice Hamiltonians and Fermi-Hubbard models, while building connections with the academic community. A deep understanding of quantum mechanics, strong project management skills, and the ability to bridge theoretical research with practical applications are essential. The position will eventually involve leading a dedicated research team. This is an opportunity to contribute to building the world's first useful quantum computer.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in physics, quantum mechanics, computational chemistry, or a related scientific field
  • Strong expertise in condensed-matter theory, thereof lattice Hamiltonians or similar research areas
  • Proven experience in research project management, ideally within an academic or industrial R&D setting
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with academic institutions and coordinate research collaborations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences
  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Establish a high-level use case overview for research-driven use cases, e.g., Fermi Hubbard
  • Prioritize and define a clear set of research-driven use cases for quantum computing applications
  • Provide thought leadership for our Research Domain and its practical implications for PsiQuantum's mission
  • Support internal and external projects, including the Fermi-Hubbard research project and other use cases around Lattice-Hamiltonians
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of research goals
  • Drive the planning, execution, and reporting of research initiatives
  • Establish and coordinate an academic expert panel to align on key research priorities
  • Engage with leading academic researchers to foster partnerships and incorporate external expertise
  • Eventually work towards building and leading a dedicated team for the Research Domain, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence

Preferred Qualifications
