Summary

Join Eurofins Scientific, a global leader in analytical testing services, as a Proposal Specialist. You will create formal quotes and proposals based on client specifications and knowledge of laboratory services, ensuring the lab meets technical requirements. Collaborate with sales and technical staff, manage proposal requests, and lead the proposal generation process from start to finish. Review client requests, keep stakeholders informed, and confirm lab certifications and capabilities. Additional responsibilities include pricing coordination, document generation, obtaining approvals, and proposal library maintenance. Requirements

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Knowledge of general environmental testing methods and key market segments, municipal, DOD, Consultant/Eng, and industrial accounts
  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Marketing/Sales with laboratory services background or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
  • Three years of related experience, preferably in Environmental lab testing
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft, Excel, and Word
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Create formal written quotes and proposals based on client specifications and knowledge of laboratory services. Ensure that the lab has the appropriate certifications and can meet any technical specifications
  • Collaborate efforts and activities with those of Outside Sales account managers and technical staff, as needed
  • Transition project wins from Business Development to Project Management
  • Manage proposal requests and generation of proposals
  • Review initial requests for proposal type, complexity, customer strategic import
  • Lead proposal generation process from initial decision to final proposal
  • Review client requests for capabilities, certifications, scope
  • Keep all internal stakeholders informed throughout the process
  • Facilitate and/or complete: Discussion on the proposal strategy and approach
  • Confirm that lab certification(s) meets project requirements
  • Confirm that lab compound lists and limits and all technical aspects meet project requirements
  • Determine the lab placement of the work
  • Identifies and works with subcontract laboratories
  • Pricing coordination
  • Generate the proposal documents
  • Obtain approval by stakeholders
  • Submit the proposal
  • Proposal Library text editing and updating
  • Proposal Library maintenance
  • Assist with the development of new model proposal types
  • Document updates
  • Follow up on the proposal & update proposal status in LIMS
