Summary

Join Braze as a Regional Product Manager in Japan and play a key role in our product and growth strategy. Collaborate with product team members and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer needs, drive revenue growth, and enhance product capabilities. Interact with customers, partners, and internal teams to understand market needs and provide feedback. Lead the development of the product roadmap and feature implementation priorities. Adapt product strategy to the Japanese market and provide technical support for building a partner ecosystem. This role reports to the Director of Product Management for the Japan team and requires strong communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical position at a foreign software company (engineer, product manager, technical consultant, sales engineering (pre-sales))
  • Must be comfortable communicating in English at meetings, etc. (as it is essential to communicate with product managers in HQ)
  • Good understanding of software and SaaS development processes and cycles
  • Experience with web (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) or similar front-end implementation
  • Experience developing applications with REST api in a cloud-based architecture
  • Communication skills to listen to the customer's use cases and requirements
  • Long-term perspective, not just short-term results
  • Ability to build cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to get the job done

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer and market research in Japan to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape
  • Adapt product strategy to fit the nuances of the Japanese market
  • Gather ongoing feedback from Japanese customers, prospects, partner ecosystem, and internal customer facing departments to enhance product capabilities and go-to-market strategies
  • Conduct product design research, documentation, and work closely with the development team to prioritize features and enhancements that address market specific needs, and align with the overall product roadmap
  • Develop strategies for product feature positioning, messaging, etc
  • Provide technical support for building a partner ecosystem in Japan
  • Drive localization of not only products but also supplemental assets (documentation help, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding and experience with marketing technology
  • Experience with MA tools
  • Experience developing mobile apps
  • Experience with database access in SQL
