Summary
Join Petfolk as a Regional Business Partner (RBP) and oversee the seamless operation of 10-30 pet care centers across multiple locations. As a passionate leader, you will collaborate with corporate management and Business Partners to achieve budgetary, client satisfaction, and patient care goals. You will manage multiple Business Partners, focusing on their training, integration, and performance. Responsibilities include exceeding revenue growth, managing costs, monitoring key metrics, and ensuring operational effectiveness. You will also play a key role in DVM scheduling, inventory management, team scheduling, and implementing Petfolk's cultural and brand standards. This role requires extensive travel and involves direct leadership of centers without a Business Partner.
Requirements
- 10+ years in the pet ecosystem
- 3+ years of multi-site operational and/or management experience in fast-growth healthcare services businesses, including previous experience managing a business of similar size and complexity
- Experience as a former veterinary practice manager
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives
- Advanced P&L experience and understanding
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of successful change management strategies within the veterinary industry
- Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Expertise in Google Suites and ability to learn new computer-based applications with ease
- Strong active listening and written and verbal communication skills; strong professional presence
- Proven ability to work independently
- Highly organized and detail-oriented work ethic
- Ability to work collaboratively with all team members, both at the practice level and at the corporate level
- Ability to analyze and assess complex and ambiguous data to make recommendations for continuous strategic and operational improvements

- Must live near a major airport
- Must be able to travel daily and work weekends
- Ability to travel frequently, including overnight trips and extended periods away from home
- Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings, presentations, or travel (e.g., driving, flying)
- Comfortable carrying and transporting materials or equipment, such as a laptop, promotional items, or meeting supplies, weighing up to 25 pounds
- Physical mobility to navigate various environments, including veterinary care centers, conference venues, and airports
- Ability to work varied hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to accommodate travel schedules or business needs
Responsibilities
- Exceed revenue growth to budget and cost-manage strategies to exceed operating profit of the portfolio through coaching & developing Business Partners within the area
- Recognize and coach to cost-saving measures to include inventory management, effective utilization of staff & calendar management, new service streams
- Monitor key metrics and performance indicators daily/weekly to achieve performance objectives, while also managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Manage pet scheduling
- Manage inventory/COGS
- Manage team scheduling & labor management
- Understand business drivers and create opportunities to optimize them, with a strong focus on volume growth & service mix and offerings
- Partner with hospital leaders, and BI to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and develop corresponding action plans
- Deploy structured and repeatable management processes with hospital leadership teams to drive operational effectiveness and growth
- Prioritize areas of focus based on impact and urgency; help teams do the same
- Partner with Finance & BI teams to determine opportunities to hire for growth & utilize new service streams
- Provide input to strategic scheduling of locum DVMS in partnership with the Regional Medical Partner
- Provide leadership and oversight to Business Partners to focus on financial performance while maintaining Petfolk standards
- Support new DeNovo locations and their teams from First Day Open
- Assist with the implementation of cultural & brand standards for pet care centers in collaboration with the leadership
- Champion Petfolk culture and develop teams and leaders through coaching, mentorship, and programs that deliver on the strategic mission. Partner with the Petfolk βCultureβ team to advise/participate in events meant to support the culture and community of Petfolk
- Advise on local grassroots marketing efforts
- Hire new Business Partners in the region
- Advise Business Partners on operational policies and recommend changes where applicable to improve performance
- Coach and develop business strategies to improve margin performance at the pet care centers
- Instill a sense of accountability and customer service excellence with our teams at all levels
- Achieve results through influence and partnership versus through authority or directives
- Facilitate connections and community among individuals and hospitals within markets
- Work with Business Partners & People on all HR matters
- Conduct random site audits of the pet care center to ensure physical plant standards are being maintained
- Partner with our Business Intelligence team to provide insight to data discoveries that could provide margin opportunities within the clinics. Participate in budgetary conversations
- Spearhead and ensure grassroots marketing efforts in the region
- Partner with Petfolk departments (marketing, BI, recruiting, HR, business development, and finance and accounting) to create and implement plans that support business growth, including marketing, scheduling optimization, client growth and retention, identification of new services, recruitment of new DVMs, and expansion of existing sites and their capacity
- Coordinate training of new Business Partners from completion of Petfolk Grow through transition
- Conduct 30/60/90 Day survey
- Complete check-in meeting template
- Schedule meetings with TA as needed
- Create monthly candidate summary reports
- Conduct virtual and in-person interviews
- Complete interview scorecards
- Spend 4 full days each week on-site in the care centers that need on-site support
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with all Business Partners as needed
- Participate in and lead monthly P&L calls with Business Partners
- Participate in weekly 1:1βs with Director of PCC Operations
