Summary

Join the Span engineering team as a reliability engineering intern to assist with hardware design, testing, and manufacturing efforts. As a passionate mechanical or electrical engineering student, you will apply your knowledge of electrical and mechanical system failures to create reliability test setups, write test plans, and interface with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Working towards a BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience running reliability tests including environmental, mechanical, and electrical stress testing
  • Experience with analysis of test results
  • Experience with high-level coding languages such as Python for scripting or data analysis
  • Hands-on experience building test setups and using instrumentation
  • Hands-on approach, whether it be building a prototype or performing testing
  • Excited about digging into complex problems and seeing them through to solutions
  • Passionate about renewable energy and energy storage!

Responsibilities

  • Create reliability test setups and own them from concept, design, manufacturing, and testing
  • Write reliability test plans and see them through test execution, data analysis and reporting results
  • Interface with cross-functional teams such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, firmware engineering, and products to define test specifications
  • Read datasheets and analyze electrical component specifications for design for reliability
  • Own the build out of our in-house reliability lab, you will procure and develop test equipment to support testing on our current and future products
