Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the XR or gaming industry
- Expertise across various art disciplines, including concept art, 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation
- Solid understanding of color theory and composition
- Strong knowledge of real-time graphics constraints, particularly on VR platforms and across multiple devices
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools like Autodesk Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
- Deep experience with 3D pipelines, workflows, and optimizing art assets for performance and quality
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of guiding art teams and collaborating effectively with cross-functional departments
- In-depth understanding of the technical aspects of art integration in Unity engine
- Residence within a timezone close to CET
Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate a clear artistic vision for XR projects, ensuring consistency and maintaining high-quality standards across all assets
- Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary art team, including 2D/3D artists, animators, and designers
- Collaborate closely with development and other departments to ensure seamless integration of art assets into the game engine
- Supervise the production of concept art, 3D models, animations, textures, and UI elements
- Develop and optimize art pipelines, tools, and workflows to increase production efficiency and meet project deadlines
- Provide regular feedback and guidance to the art team to elevate the quality of their work and ensure alignment with the project's visual direction
- Participate in sprint planning, resource allocation, and key meetings to ensure art requirements are properly considered and delivered on time
- Stay current with industry trends in art, design, and immersive technologies (VR/AR, 3D modeling, real-time rendering, etc.), incorporating relevant innovations into projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in motion design and 3D animation
- Understanding of rendering pipelines, specifically Unityβs render pipelines
- Familiarity with other game engines like Unreal Engine or proprietary engines
