  • Process-oriented mindset with experience driving automation/efficiencies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently to deliver accurate, high-quality outputs with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end monthly forecast cycle by collaborating with cross-functional FP&A teams
  • Responsible for financial consolidation, performing detailed budget variance analysis, and preparing comprehensive financial reports that provides actionable insights for senior management
  • Partner closely with the Accounting and Investor Relations teams to support external reporting obligations during the monthly close and quarterly BoD/earnings cycles
  • Assist with preparation and submission of internal and external forecast reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition to develop and track key hiring metrics
  • Take ownership of all headcount reporting, including both full-time employees (FTEs) and hybrid workers, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with workforce planning goals
  • Assist with the annual operating planning and budgeting process ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and financial targets
  • Develop scalable templates for departmental input that promote consistency across the organization and streamline the budgeting workflow
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support corporate-level initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, proactively driving process enhancements that contribute to increased efficiency and effectiveness within the finance and planning functions

Upwork is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Corporate FP&A team. This role will report directly to the Director of Corporate FP&A and will be a highly visible role. In this role, you will take ownership of financial consolidation, monthly and quarterly variance and forecast reports, contribute materially to board meeting material and earnings preparation, and collaborate with fellow FP&A team members to enhance standardization and consistency in our financial, key operational metrics and headcount reporting. In addition, you will also be responsible for enhancing and streamlining our current reporting processes, with a focus on automation and efficiency.

What it takes to catch our eye:

The annual base salary range for this position  is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

$122,500—$149,250 USD
