Requirements
- 3+ years experience working in a software or data engineering management or leadership role
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data security practices
- Expertise in defining and implementing data architectures, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data engineering tools (Databricks, Spark, Kafka), and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and align data architecture with business objectives
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experienced in recruitment and adept at fostering a motivated and committed engineering team
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with the capability to manage complex schedules and effectively resolve conflicts
- A proactive problem-solver who identifies root causes evaluates optimal solutions, and implements comprehensive improvements to prevent future issues
- Goal-driven with a track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Proven leadership skills with hands-on experience in guiding technical teams, adept at both performance management and delivering comprehensive feedback
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- English language proficiency
Responsibilities
- Drive your team to take ownership of services, ensuring delivery meets the highest quality standards for our customers
- Collaborate with your team to define performance metrics, set clear goals, and track progress, ensuring the team consistently delivers exceptional quality
- Provide coaching, feedback, foster professional development, and manage the career trajectories for all team members
- Ensure team health and performance, mediating interpersonal and technical conflicts within and across teams
- Prioritize the work within the team along with the product team to attend to urgent matters to succeed and meet the needs of Bitsoβs roadmaps
- To lead by the Bitso values and empower your team while contributing to the overall mission of Bitso
- Recruiting and retaining top talent
- Accountable for your team's outcomes and the team members' development. Proactively drive the teamβs direction and roadmaps, fostering ongoing communication with engineering leadership and product managers to ensure alignment
- Drive Technical excellence
- Understand technical problems and solutions to address them
- Review and provide feedback on technical architecture decisions
