Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in data governance or related roles
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with SQL and basic understanding of data modeling concepts
  • Experience in successfully driving initiatives from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in designing and enforcing data governance policies, with strong stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to handling the challenges of a fast growing company
  • Business fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data governance projects that align with strategic business goals
  • Leading the data ownership, data stewardship and data classification initiatives
  • Implementing a β€œdata governance shift left” approach, ensuring data quality and governance principles are integrated early in the data lifecycle
  • Creating and managing data access policies to ensure appropriate access controls are in place
  • Creating and maintaining data dictionaries
  • Leading metadata and master data management (MDM) initiatives, ensuring consistent, accurate, and accessible data across the organization
  • Establishing a bridge between data producers and data consumers
  • Establishing and enforcing data privacy and security standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to data governance policies
  • Providing internal training and support to team members and stakeholders on data governance best practices
  • Contributing to data literacy and data democratization initiatives
  • Overseeing data contracts and ensuring compliance with data policies
  • Continuously improving data governance and quality frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements. (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA,TCPA)
  • Experience with Data Management, Data Observability, Data Quality, Data Catalog Tools
  • Experience in Lead Generation, SaaS or marketplace companies
  • Familiarity with ethical considerations and topics related with Machine Learning projects
