Job Description

As a Delivery Leader in a country project in public health, you will support the delivery of priorities to foster sexual and reproductive health, working jointly with government entities and other partners on the ground to plan for delivery, monitor progress, and address implementation challenges.

This is a contractor role, being offered as a 1-year fixed-term engagement. There may be an opportunity for the engagement to be extended depending on performance and business need.

As a Delivery Leader, you’ll work with senior government officials to support better delivery of public services for the good of their citizens and residents. We are looking for someone to support our teams as we grow our work across Africa, bringing a sharp and data-informed analytical problem-solving skill set to support our clients. This may include working with clients to use data to formulate and test recommendations to improve senior-level decision-making, facilitate problem-solving and collaboration through action-oriented routines, design and delivery of stakeholder workshops, and/or engaging with frontline services providers and end users to inform policy and program implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and support partner organizations in implementing reforms to build the capacity of the ministry of health, offering guidance and coaching to the client’s team for achieving tangible results.
  • Engage directly with local governments and partners, facilitating relationship-building, problem-solving, collaboration, and knowledge management with partners.
  • Lead data collection and analytical processes to develop robust recommendations for client presentations.
  • Implement prioritized reforms, working closely with client team members.
  • Plan and execute stakeholder workshops, ensuring the smooth flow of routine meetings
  • Contribute to the development of client reports and communication materials.
  • Build capacity for delivery across sectors through training, coaching, and feedback.
  • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Skill sets: We work closely in diverse, global teams, leaning on each other’s strengths. We don’t expect any one person to do all these things perfectly. Our teams are made up of people who can:

  • Model data to identify patterns and forecast future trends: Utilize advanced analytical techniques and tools to reveal relationships within datasets, enabling prediction of outcomes and informed decision-making.
  • Write and communicate clearly: Turn complex problems or insights into clear memos and well-structured slides; speak clearly and concisely in remote and in-person settings. Be able to simplify complexity, translating technical language into digestible narratives that enable great decision making of different audiences.
  • Prioritize and manage workstreams: Bring clear structure and planning to day-to-day work and communication.
  • Solve problems: Break down problems and identify root causes before developing hypotheses and solutions.
  • Stay focused: Navigate complexity, especially in policy and program implementation, consistently steering large coalitions back to a single-minded focus on priority outcomes.
