Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative user research studies: Engage with patients to gain insights into their needs, and leverage these findings to shape clinical, operational, and design strategies
  • Execute quantitative behavioral studies: Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and data teams to deeply understand user behaviors, and synthesize recommendations that propel care model improvements that drive engagement and lead to improved health outcomes
  • Design and lead pilots to evaluate innovative ideas and concepts: Leveraging the work done to understand our users, facilitate cross functional workshops to generate novel ideas for pilots. Partner with operational teams to run these pilots, disseminate learnings, and help translate successful pilots into sustainable organizational improvements
  • Develop design deliverables with long shelf life: Whether an in-depth service blueprint, informative user personas, or a high-level journey map, develop deliverables that will inform other teams today, tomorrow, and next year

Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers and problem solvers who are passionate about improving care for moms and babies. We are transforming outcomes for pregnant people and babies with evidence-based pregnancy and newborn care at scale. Our technology-driven care platform enables us to engage patients early, conduct individualized risk assessments for poor pregnancy outcomes, and deliver coordinated, personalized virtual care throughout pregnancy, NICU stays, and the first postpartum year. We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend.

We’re looking for a Director, Behavioral Insights to join our rapidly-growing design team. From developing journey maps that detail the experiences of the people we serve to working with clinical teams to improve the way we communicate with our users, you will be responsible for developing and disseminating critical insights that help our clinical, operational, and technical teams meet patients where they are at.

This role will report to the VP of Product Design. Specifically, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative user research studies: Engage with patients to gain insights into their needs, and leverage these findings to shape clinical, operational, and design strategies.

Who you are

  • 9+ years of experience independently conducting qualitative and quantitative user research in complex problem spaces

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company’s size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Pomelo Care. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. Given that this role is open to candidates of different skill levels, determining a salary range is challenging. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $170,000 to $200,000. We expect most candidates to fall in the middle of the range. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration, so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
