Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, or equivalent) is required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in field medical affairs, with 2+ years of experience in the dermatology therapeutic area
  • Prior experience in managing and leading a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
  • In-depth knowledge of dermatology disease states, clinical trial design, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with KOLs and other external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic biotech environment with a collaborative, cross-functional mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), providing strategic direction, professional development, and performance management
  • Ensure MSLs are equipped to engage with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other external stakeholders, delivering scientific and medical information that aligns with corporate strategy
  • Monitor and evaluate MSL activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, and Regulatory Affairs
  • As needed, especially prior to expanding the MSL team, serve as the primary medical point of contact for key external stakeholders, including investigators, clinical site personnel, KOLs, and other healthcare providers
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Medical Affairs strategies
  • Provide scientific expertise and insights to help guide internal decision-making, clinical development, and lifecycle management
  • Assist in the development and review of medical materials, publications, and field tools to ensure accuracy and scientific integrity
