Remote Director, Software Development

Summary

Join a team of 3 Directors as the Director of Software Development at Workleap, leading software development managers and engineers to drive innovation and engineering excellence, while collaborating with peers across technology, product, and the broader organization to accelerate business goals.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence within and across departments to drive a strategic initiative
• Strong Software Development and Systems Design skills to deliver SAAS software products leveraging software development best-practices and processes
• Experience leading a team of a minimum of 3 Software Development Managers and an organization of at least 25 developers
• Proficiency in data analysis to make data-driven decisions
• Strong cross-collaboration experience with executives across departments, including Product, Legal, Sales, and HR
• Extensive experience with building and driving the successful execution of roadmaps
• Strategic thinking to improve efficiency and velocity to meet business objectives
• Clear and concise communication skills with an ability to adapt to your audience
• Track record demonstrating a positive impact on team Building and talent development
• SaaS industry experience. Ideally from 2 different software companies
• Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and guidance to an overall organization of 40 to ensure goals and objectives are being met
• Define and drive the team’s strategic direction, through strategic objectives and roadmaps to deliver innovative, high-quality software products that meet customer needs and business goals
• Identify and champion new initiatives to drive additional business value in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, including other technology teams, product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to accelerate the achievement of business goals
• Drive and optimize the software development lifecycle, from business and system requirements to concept and design, to implementation, testing, and deployment with engineering excellence, adhering to best practices, quality benchmarks, and timelines
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the software development organization, encouraging experimentation, knowledge sharing, and learning
• Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors as needed to support software development projects and initiatives
• Create, grow and develop high performance teams, acting as a role model by embodying Workleap’s value, and coaching the teams to grow to become future leaders in the organization
