Requirements
- Software engineering background in a senior or leadership role (prior experience with data engineering, big data, or software engineering with python would be a plus)
- Strong project management skills, ensuring on-time delivery of software projects
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow software engineering teams, including performance reviews and personal development
- Strong conflict management and resolution skills, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts
- Experience working in industries where data is central to the business, such as tech, finance, healthcare, or e-commerce
- Ability to align technical projects with business objectives and ensure the team is focused on delivering value to the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party relationships effectively, ensuring alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables
Responsibilities
- Lead by example to ensure the technical excellence of the engineering team
- Steer the team by helping select the right tools and technologies, ensure product quality and promote best practices, provide mentorship and guidance, maintain alignment of a technology roadmap with department and company goals
- Build and maintain a high performing team through recruiting, structuring, and managing skills. Ensure a balanced, high-performance, positive and productive environment, set goals, provide mentorship, empower your teammates, and foster the growth of engineers
- Define project scopes, timelines, and allocate resources to meet goals and needs. Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring timely and effective delivery. Communicate statuses, challenges, successes and collaborate with stakeholders and leaders
- Manage and maintain knowledge bases and technical documentation. Ensure components and decisions are captured efficiently and correct processed are followed
- Collaborate closely with other teams, ensure mutual understanding and alignment of requirements and goals
