Remote Lead Game Developer

Summary

Join us as a Lead Game Programmer at KWS Mexico City and shape the technical direction of our development projects. You will lead a team, collaborate with the studio head, and contribute to the studio's growth plans.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Strong proficiency in C++, C#
• Experience with Unreal 4/5, AWS, Steam/PlayStation/Xbox platforms
• Proven track record of shipping at least 2-3 console titles or 4-5 PC titles
• Responsible for delivering projects on budget, on time, to requirements, and with high quality
• Able to analyze and evaluate technical risks within the scope of a project and make judicious recommendations
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical standards and best practices
• Collaborate with game designers and producers to ensure technical feasibility
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
• Identify and mitigate risks
• Should be competent presenting technical information to a range of audiences including non-technical audiences
• Takes an active role in the hiring process with the business and recruitment team for the creation and development of the Game Dev team
• Leads a team working on significant and critical projects. Provides both technical and team leadership and mentoring
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Identify opportunities for process improvement
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and other departments
• Present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
