Join our team as a Part-Time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and supporting the finance department. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of payroll processing, employee benefits, and tax regulations.
Requirements
- Strong command of multi-state payroll processing including regulations, tax laws and unemployment insurance compliance
- Payroll systems experience (e.g., Rippling, ADP, QuickBooks) and proficiency with Excel and other relevant tools
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Good communication skills to interact with employees and management
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees (US and Canada)
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll calculations, including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits
- Verify hours worked and other payroll-related data for accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance
- Assist with the preparation of payroll tax filings (e.g., 941, state tax filings, and other required documents)
- Generate and review payroll reports for errors or discrepancies
- Respond to employee questions regarding pay, benefits, deductions, and other payroll-related matters
- Provide clarification and support regarding pay stubs, tax withholding, and pay-related issues
- Maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive employee information
- Assist with the preparation of year-end payroll reports, including W-2s or 1099s
