Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, with a focus on observability and monitoring
• Extensive experience with Datadog for monitoring, logging, and performance metrics
• Proficient with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
• Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain observability infrastructure using Datadog and other related tools
• Identify and implement cost optimization measures to ensure efficient usage of observability tools and cloud resources
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and integration processes
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and improve development, testing, and release processes
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Ensure security best practices are followed throughout the development and deployment processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DevOps engineers and other team members
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of network and application security best practices
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying cloud infrastructure with AWS CDK and TypeScript
• Experience configuring and deploying containers to AWS ECS Fargate
