Summary

Join Altera, a health IT solutions provider, as a Financial Analyst to support software business units. You will collaborate with leadership to forecast financials, prepare monthly reports, and conduct variance analysis. Responsibilities include month-end close procedures, business unit support, and ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, 3-5 years of experience in a financial analyst role, and strong analytical and communication skills. This remote role is based in the U.S. or Canada (Eastern/Central time zone preferred).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a financial analyst role, with experience managing a full P&L
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a mature and proactive approach to responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, including working effectively and positively in a matrix environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using various formulas and functions

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed monthly financial forecasts, including developing and maintaining client revenue models to ensure accurate projection of revenue from backlog and sales forecasts, as well as detailed cost forecasting
  • Prepare and present detailed monthly reporting packages to various levels of leadership inclusive of variance analysis, financial insights and other key performance metrics
  • Conduct monthly business unit reviews with business unit leadership and executive management
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing procedures, detailed variance analysis, and quarterly deliverables related to quarter and year-end audit procedures and demands
  • Develop strong partnerships with business unit leadership and provide them with the financial information and analysis they need to drive business unit financial performance
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial data and analysis from various stakeholders, and you’ll consult to identify and implement areas for process improvements within finance and across their business units

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with one or more ERPs (Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, etc.) and financial reporting tools, i.e. Hyperion, TM1 preferred
  • Experience supporting a software industry business preferred
