Job description

The Lean Focused Research Organization (FRO) is committed to revolutionizing how Lean, a proof assistant and programming language, is utilized across various sectors. We aim to make Lean a cornerstone in formal mathematics, software and hardware verification, software development, AI in mathematics and code synthesis, and new educational methodologies in math and computer science. Our goal is to cultivate a dynamic, decentralized ecosystem that thrives on diversity and collaboration, engages with a global community, and fosters open-source contributions.

We are looking for an Ops superstar who will work remotely and can take ownership and support our long-term sustainability and success. This isn’t a role for the light-hearted. While we are non-profit, we have the mentality of a high-growth start-up and are laser-focused on hitting our milestones. And we’re looking for someone who can keep up, or better yet, help set the pace. You will have the opportunity to support groundbreaking research, create innovative solutions, and shape the future of formal verification. If you’re ready to dive in and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, please apply below.

You Are (skills)

  • Ready to take ownership. You don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do or how to do it…you figure it out. You’re the agency driving forward many of your team’s greatest accomplishments.
  • Formidable. You are an unstoppable force motivated to get things done. You haven’t met a brick wall that could stop you and are no stranger to pushing boulders up hills.
  • A problem solver. You know how to get to the root of a problem and are a master at designing solutions. You also recognize without good implementation the best solution is useless.
  • A systems-thinker. You know how to jump up a level and visualize how a complex chain of processes impacts the end result. You have a knack for understanding the complexities and interactions of structures and love pre-empting any difficulties.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative. You understand that success is a team effort, and you take pride in being a dependable partner who supports the leadership team. You’re confident in your skills but equally comfortable following directions to achieve the broader mission. You focus on results over recognition, contributing meaningfully without needing the spotlight.
  • A confident, clear, proactive, empathetic communicator. You understand how to get the best out of people and how humans work. You can apply this knowledge internally with your team and externally to engage stakeholders from all walks of life.

You Will (duties)

  • Support financial reviews and reporting. You will attend monthly financial reviews and maintain and update our financial spreadsheets. We need to ensure financial reports are prepared accurately and on time for internal and external stakeholders. You will also collaborate with leadership to prepare our yearly budget.
  • Liaise with Convergent Research. You will act as the primary point of contact with the Convergent Research leadership and team. This will also involve the coordination of legal, finance, HR, and other administrative functions provided by Convergent Research.
  • Prepare for board meetings. We need your help to schedule and organize board meetings for our Board of Directors and Strategic Advisory Board. You will prepare meeting agendas, ensure all relevant documentation is ready, and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Manage contracts and our hiring process. You will partner with Convergent Research’s HR team to streamline hiring, onboarding, and other personnel-related matters. You will also design and manage our internship program.
  • Oversee our social media. We want the world to know about the work we are doing, and you will use social media to amplify Lean FRO, ensuring all content aligns with our values. You will use your social media savvy to track engagement and implement strategies to improve our online presence.
  • Oversee Web Design. We want our website to reflect our amazing mission and team. You will hire and manage a web design contractor to ensure the website is up-to-date and aligned with Lean FRO’s messaging. You will oversee website performance and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Ensure effective documentation and process management. You will organize and document our internal processes, while also ensuring these processes are clearly communicated and easily accessible to all team members.
  • Support our team. We need your support to manage day-to-day administrative tasks, organize team events and offsites, and provide general support to the team.

We Offer (for US-based employees)
