Within our platforms, our teams are driving change, working with international colleagues and the latest tech stack to develop solutions that transform into a pioneering end product; it’s tangible and impactful – for our customers and the world.

Our technology team:

Our Technology team enjoy a challenge. They’re hungry to learn, and don’t hesitate to ask what, why, and how. They get to work with various technologies to create high quality scalable applications (just imagine, thousands of stores, millions of products, and billions of rows of raw data!). Their expertise positively impacts the environment and business processes around the world; alongside international colleagues, they drive change and develop solutions that become our pioneering end product. From functional programming, machine learning and interesting algorithms, to building big data pipelines, they’re behind it all. They can work in a flexible way, remote or in-office – after all, they contribute to all our achievements, so we reward them with genuine work-life balance and access to every opportunity.

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Performance Engineer to join our Performance and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the high performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems and applications, and we are looking for an experienced engineer to lead these initiatives. As part of a small, dynamic team of five—including two DevOps engineers, two performance testers, and a performance analyst—you will play a critical role in optimizing software performance and developing in-house tools.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing and development, capable of designing and executing performance testing frameworks, scripting automated tests, and contributing to the enhancement of our custom tooling, ASIACQ (Configuration Excellence). Given the nature of the role, project management skills are highly desirable, as the position requires a high degree of autonomy and self-direction to manage multiple initiatives effectively.

Join the S&A Engineer QA subdepartment as a Senior Performance Engineer, and this is some of what you’ll be doing:

  • Bring visibility to performance metrics and understand their effects on customers.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to implement performance enhancements and ensure the scalability and reliability of our applications.
  • Leverage your development background (Java, Python, or similar) to contribute to team tooling and infrastructure.
  • Communicate performance testing outcomes, system optimizations, and potential risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing and quality assurance processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Identify project risks, potential bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies to ensure performance goals are met.

We’re looking for:

  • 6+ years of experience in performance engineering with a strong emphasis on performance testing, analysis, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting and executing performance tests using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, and Prometheus, as well as familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used in performance testing, such as Java, Python, Perl, or .NET.
  • Experience with database management and querying, including SQL for relational databases or equivalent query languages for NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • A strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance principles, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

What we consider as an advantage:

  • Experience in using Gitlab, cloud technologies (such as Azure)
  • Front end Developer experience
