Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects within the behavioral health sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including behavioral health providers, community organizations, and clients to ensure project objectives are met
  • Manage cross-functional teams, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful project delivery and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges to maintain project timelines and quality
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including status reports, project plans, timelines, and other required project deliverables
  • Continuously analyze project processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance project outcomes and efficiency
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their needs are understood and met

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with health IT implementations or electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, or other healthcare regulations related to behavioral health
  • Experience working in multi-state environments and adapting projects to comply with state-specific regulations
  • Familiarity with data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA) and their application in project management

Job Summary:

Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a solid background in Behavioral Health to join our team for a long-term remote contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex projects within the behavioral health sector and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams. This role requires hands-on project management expertise combined with the ability to engage with stakeholders, deliver solutions, and drive projects to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects within the behavioral health sector, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including behavioral health providers, community organizations, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful project delivery and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges to maintain project timelines and quality.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Develop and maintain project documentation, including status reports, project plans, timelines, and other required project deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously analyze project processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
  • Client Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their needs are understood and met.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Psychology, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MHA) or equivalent work experience are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8+ years of project management experience, with 5+ years in the behavioral health sector.
    • Proven experience managing projects with field-type or engagement management aspects, such as working directly with behavioral health providers, clinics, or community-based programs.
  • Project Management Certification: PMP certification is strongly preferred. Other relevant certifications (e.g., Agile, Scrum) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Trello) and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Remote Work Experience: Proven ability to manage remote projects and teams, with strong self-management skills and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:
