Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a college or university
  • A Master’s degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience
  • 5 years experience in the development and/or management of software for DoD computer systems using Ada, C, C++, or Java programming languages; and experience in the development of real-time software for DoD combat platforms systems
  • Experience with Technical Data Rights, software quality assurance, and electrical engineering designs for combat vehicles and
  • Experience of Cybersecurity, software security engineering, and software assurance principles and applications and
  • Strong technical experience/capability in system level design of ground combat vehicles, to include working knowledge of primary software functional areas (Soldier Machine Interfaces, Fire Control, Diagnostics, Computing resources, etc.) and how they are employed and
  • Experience of DoD/Army Acquisition processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud-based infrastructure benchmarking and infrastructure development plans
  • Evaluate software in cloud environments within the DevSecOps lifecycle to support agile software development processes
  • Perform software engineering analysis, including design concepts, performance measurements, and software architectural analysis
  • Provide technical reviews, requirements analysis, risk analysis, and mitigation strategies
  • Support the design, development, integration, testing, production, logistics, fielding, and sustainment of U.S. military ground combat systems
  • Analyze and design software subsystems, including safety, environmental, and programmatic impacts
  • Offer technical expertise in computing environments, operating systems, communications protocols, and hardware platforms
  • Utilize computer logic, flow-charting techniques, program design methods, debug tools, and database management

We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS).The Software Engineer will lead and support research, design, development, and engineering efforts for software solutions across assigned programs. They will play a key role in cloud infrastructure development, software evaluation, and ensuring compliance with DevSecOps methodologies, driving agile software development. The engineer will provide subject matter expertise in software architecture, risk analysis, and technical evaluations, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external organizations to deliver high-level technical guidance and solutions.
