About your role

Juniper Square is industry-leading in the transformation of private capital markets through innovation & technology, and we are expanding globally to keep up with the demand for innovation! We are looking for an SRE intern that is highly motivated and a career aspiring technologist that can assist us in improving our infrastructure posture as a global company. From cloud provisioning through infrastructure as code to identifying performance bottlenecks and working with respective teams to address them, we seek someone with the passion, motivation, and technically focused interest to partner with our amazing SRE team and help us improve the status quo.

What you’ll do

• Contribute to large, complex projects in a team, and execute development tasks to completion

• Participate in project kick-offs and adapt technical specifications for implementation

• Define new and expand existing data models, including database schema and object models in the data access layer

• Implement required business logic in the service layer

• Define and implement GraphQL schema and resolvers and integrate with the front-end

• Write integration and unit tests for your code and perform code reviews for colleagues

• Provide technical support for stakeholder groups such as customer success

• Participate in monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing production issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

• 2-4 years of experience building cloud-based web applications

Must have skills:

• Expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP) such as Python, Java or similar server-side web application development languages

• Experience with frameworks like Django, FastAPI, Pyramid or similar

• Experience with GraphQL or Rest APIs

• Experience with SQL database schema design and query optimization

• Experience with Cloud (AWS preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes would be a plus

Good to have skills:

• Experience with React, Typescript or Jinja templates is a plus but not mandatory

• You must be self-driven, flexible and adaptable—you will be operating in a fast-paced startup environment
