Remote Staff Accountant

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Accounting or in process of completion
• At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or within a private company, preferably in a high-growth or international environment
• Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ability to apply them to various scenarios
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) with a strong ability to analyze financial data
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERPs is a plus
• Self-starter with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Spanish

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for assigned ledger accounts during financial close
• Conduct monthly account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Record and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals as needed
• Oversee and ensure timely processing of financial transactions and vendor invoices
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial audits
• Support external and internal audit processes by providing requested documentation and analysis
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency in routine tasks
• Handle ad hoc projects related to accounting and finance as assigned by the Controller
