Summary

Join our research team to support a project investigating the early history of the Israel-Palestine conflict on American campuses. As a current undergraduate student, you will dedicate 15-20 hours per week during the summer to this role. Responsibilities include reviewing archival materials, compiling databases, conducting research, assisting with academic article drafting, and maintaining confidentiality. Proficiency in academic database searches and experience with archival research are required. Preference is given to students majoring or minoring in History or International and Global Studies and those with knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic. On-campus or remote work options are available, with remote workers participating in bi-weekly check-ins. Eligible students may be offered on-campus housing.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student
  • Must be available 15–20 hours per week during the summer
  • Proficient in academic database searches
  • Experience with archival research or a strong interest in historical sources
  • Meticulous, systematic, and well-organized in reading, writing, and documentation
  • Proficiency with Excel

Responsibilities

  • Review and sort scanned archival materials, and list file contents and key findings
  • Compile a database of key events, organizations, and individuals relevant to the project
  • Search library and scholarly databases for relevant articles and research materials
  • Assist in drafting and revising academic articles, including providing feedback on drafts, organizing source materials, and formatting the bibliography
  • Search online databases for additional archival materials
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to standards of academic integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major or minor in History or International and Global Studies (IGS)
  • Knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic
  • Familiarity with data analysis
