Summary

Join Xebia, a global technology company specializing in cloud-based solutions, as a Technical Product Manager. You will lead the migration of complex computational workloads from standalone applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments for pharmaceutical clients. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and product management skills to drive successful migration projects. You will act as a bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and scientific end users, ensuring the integrity and performance of scientific computing workloads while aligning with business priorities. You will work closely with engineering leaders, teams, product teams, and external vendors to define technical requirements, migration strategies, and navigate the specialized needs of scientific computing in regulated industries. Your ability to balance enterprise technology concerns with stakeholder and end-user needs will be crucial to the success of these migrations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management or similar roles
  • Expertise with Agile methodologies and product development lifecycle
  • Ability to run Discovery workshops for functional and non-functional requirements gathering
  • Demonstrated background in cloud migration projects, preferably with GCP
  • Technical foundation in software development (preferably full-stack) or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Strong understanding of containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with application migration strategies and implementation
  • Familiarity with database migrations and administration
  • Knowledge of API integration and development practices
  • Experience working with enterprise applications (especially a bonus if high-performance computing environments)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in ambiguous, evolving project environments
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and challenging interpersonal dynamics
  • Experience with HPC environments and understanding of specialized computational workloads
  • Knowledge of parallel computing principles and distributed systems architecture
  • Familiarity with batch processing systems and job schedulers used in HPC environments
  • Understanding of performance benchmarking and optimization techniques for compute-intensive applications

Responsibilities

  • Able to balance the demands as a strategic driver and tactical contributor, blending high-level product leadership with hands-on execution, requiring both vision and day-to-day ownership of key deliverables and written requirements
  • Creating and maintaining a comprehensive migration roadmap that outlines stages, dependencies, and release schedules for standalone applications
  • Collaborating with client engineering teams to architect and design migration strategies and technical structures
  • Defining, document, and prioritize clear technical and business requirements for application migrations
  • Supporting architectural design and technical planning efforts, ensuring solutions meet both business and technical needs
  • Working closely with engineers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery
  • Navigating complex technical ecosystems and manage cross-functional dependencies
  • Leading requirements gathering sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assisting in establishing migration documentation and knowledge transfer strategies
  • Helping prioritize migration efforts based on business value, technical constraints, and client directives
  • Facilitating communication between external application vendors and client teams during the migration process
  • Understanding and documenting specific HPC workload requirements during migration planning
  • Collaborating with engineers to develop migration strategies that maintain HPC performance benchmarks
  • Ensuring HPC applications maintain required computational performance when migrated to cloud infrastructure
  • Balancing performance needs with cloud cost optimization for compute-intensive applications
  • Coordinating with client teams on HPC resource allocation and scheduling requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated industry environments
  • Understanding of authentication systems (SSO, LDAP)
  • Knowledge of zero-downtime deployment strategies
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
  • Background in managing external vendor relationships and integration points
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements in enterprise environments
  • Certification in relevant cloud technologies (GCP, etc.)
  • Experience migrating HPC workloads to cloud environments (specifically GCP)
  • Knowledge of GCP's HPC-specific offerings and configurations
  • Familiarity with scientific or research computing applications common in pharmaceutical environments
  • Understanding of data movement challenges specific to large scientific datasets
