Join Swiftly, a retail digital technology startup, as a Retail Sales Director to lead the sales of their Audience Optimizer solution to retail partners. This role requires a strategic and high-performing sales leader who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment and is passionate about transforming the retail media landscape. The position is primarily remote with frequent virtual meetings and client interactions, and occasional travel may be required. You will be responsible for driving the full sales cycle, building a robust pipeline of retail media opportunities, developing strong relationships with key decision-makers, crafting tailored media proposals, delivering impactful presentations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, using data and insights to optimize sales strategy, accurately forecasting and reporting sales performance, and maintaining an expert-level understanding of the retail media ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience selling digital advertising, media solutions, or adtech platforms, with a strong preference for retail media experience
- A proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas by selling digital media campaigns to retail clients
- Deep understanding of the retail industry’s advertising and shopper marketing landscape
- Strong ability to develop, pitch, and close performance-based media deals
- Skilled in building and nurturing relationships with senior-level retail marketers, brand advertisers, and agency partners
- Proficiency in CRM tools like Salesforce, with the discipline to maintain accurate pipeline data and forecasts
- Strategic thinker with exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, with the ability to prioritize and pivot as needed
- Advanced computer software proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Salesforce)
- High level of expertise in analyzing information and making information-based recommendations
- Has demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
- Takes ownership of their domain from the ground up, from inception through deployment to customers
- Leaves their ego at the door and ensures the best idea leaves the room
- Is always experimenting with new technologies and learning new skillsets
Responsibilities
- Drive the full sales cycle for retail media campaigns—from prospecting to closing—ensuring swift execution and sustainable revenue growth
- Sell Swiftly’s digital ad solutions to retail partners by highlighting performance-driven outcomes across app, web, and omnichannel platforms
- Build a robust pipeline of retail media opportunities, with a focus on securing high-value advertising partnerships
- Develop strong relationships with key marketing and media decision-makers within retail organizations, acting as a strategic advisor for monetizing their digital real estate
- Craft tailored media proposals and campaign strategies that align with retailer goals and demonstrate measurable ROI
- Deliver impactful presentations and demos that clearly convey the value of Swiftly’s media capabilities and targeting solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—especially marketing, ad operations, and product—to ensure smooth campaign onboarding and execution
- Use data and insights to optimize sales strategy and inform campaign recommendations, staying ahead of retail media trends
- Accurately forecast and report sales performance using Salesforce and other sales enablement tools
- Maintain an expert-level understanding of the retail media ecosystem and Swiftly’s competitive positioning within it
- Other duties as assigned
