You will identify and secure high-value distribution partnerships with brokers, MGAs, fintechs, and other key players. Responsibilities include leading market growth, building trusted partnerships, coordinating internally with various teams, focusing on profitability, acting as Wakam's local voice, and leveraging innovation through AI and automation tools. The ideal candidate possesses at least 8 years of commercial or business development experience, including 3 years in the insurance sector, a deep understanding of B2B2C or embedded insurance models, and proven partnership-building skills. Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial or business development roles , including at least 3 years in insurance (brokerage, MGA, insurtech, fintech, embedded insurance, or affinity programs)
- Deep understanding of B2B2C or embedded insurance models in a European context
- Proven ability to build and close complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships
- Solid negotiation, pitching, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with a profitability mindset
Responsibilities
- Lead Market Growth : Take ownership of business development across your designated European markets. Identify new leads, close strategic deals, and expand existing partnerships
- Build Trusted Partnerships : Understand your partners’ ecosystems and propose tailored insurance solutions that match their operational models and customers’ needs
- Coordinate Internally : Work hand-in-hand with our Underwriting, Pricing, and Delivery teams to co-build and launch insurance programs in record time
- Focus on Profitability : You’re not just chasing volume — you ensure commercial deals align with Wakam’s risk appetite and contribute to long-term profitability
- Act as the Local Voice of Wakam : Represent us at industry events, pitch with confidence, and build Wakam’s visibility as a tech-forward insurance partner
- Leverage Innovation : Be AI-curious. Use CRM, automation, and AI tools to enhance your lead pipeline, commercial proposals, and productivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in English ; fluency in another European language (Italian, Spanish, German, etc.) is highly desirable
- Familiarity or interest in AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making tools (CRM, dashboards, etc.)
