Summary

Join Guideline as a Retirement Plan Specialist to support our Legal and Compliance team. In this role, you will work closely with the entire Legal & Compliance team in a dynamic and energetic start-up environment. The role will focus on supporting the various teams at Guideline to ensure all of our plans stay compliant.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in 401(k) plans and IRAs (experience with a variety of DC plans including 403(b), 457, etc. a plus)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations and requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex subject matters into terms readily understood by team members of all levels of expertise
  • Proven ability to work well independently, as part of team, and cross-functionally
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Collaborative, positive, and pragmatic

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present trainings for Guideline employees as needed
  • Monitor and answer question queue from other Guideline team members
  • Assist other teams with analyzing current procedures and identifying and implementing improvements
  • Assist with 1099-R, withholding and other tax questions
  • Assist with plan reviews and other tasks related to conversions
  • Draft, edit and review customer facing content that explains complex concepts accurately, clearly, and concisely
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of defined contribution plan administration and compliance requirements to support internal organization goals
  • Use analytical tools and industry publications to gather information and to think independently and proactively about how to best approach issues
