Revenue Accountant

Summary

Join Certus as a Revenue Accountant and ensure accurate revenue recognition, maintain proper documentation, and support month-end and quarter-end close processes. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with company policies and external regulations, including ASC 606. This fully remote position offers a base pay between $80,000 - $85,000/year and eligibility for up to a 5% annual bonus. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and analytical, collaborating with various teams to ensure correct revenue treatment. Responsibilities include performing day-to-day revenue accounting activities, analyzing customer contracts, and preparing revenue schedules and reports. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a revenue accounting or audit role
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day revenue accounting activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
• Track and reconcile deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and related revenue accounts
• Collaborate with sales, billing, and legal teams to understand contract terms and ensure correct revenue treatment
• Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely and accurate revenue-related entries and reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries related to revenue
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to revenue processes, systems, and controls
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or progress toward CPA designation preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is a plus
