The Role

The risk team touches multiple parts of Virtuโ€™s business lines and is responsible for the day to day monitoring of and ongoing evaluation of the firmโ€™s risk. The role requires daily risk monitoring and continuous communication with business units throughout the day. The risk team is also responsible for ongoing evaluation and improvement of the firmโ€™s risk processes, policies and procedures including the firmโ€™s market access controls, business continuity planning and credit and capital control framework.

Full Responsibilities include:

  • Daily monitoring of firmโ€™s trading risk GUIs across multiple business lines
  • Project coordination across onboarding, trade support, relationship managers, developers and trading desks
  • Business continuity planning
  • Evaluation and adjustment of client trading limits on a daily and permanent basis
  • Risk policy, processes and procedures review and improvements
  • Work with global counterparts to improve overall firmwide risk processes and best practices
  • Continuous evaluation of client/ counterparty risk

The Candidate

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masters Degree
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a trade support, counterparty risk or trading risk role
  • Ability to work in office
  • Project management experience; ability to manage daily risks processes and strategic risk projects
  • Strong relationship skills to work across a variety of roles within the firm including relationship managers, traders, trade support, developers and compliance personnel
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with MS office suite and Confluence
  • Equities knowledge is a plus but not mandatory
  • SQL knowledge is a plus
