Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
- 5+ years of relevant roadway/highway design engineering experience
- Experience working on SCDOT roadway design projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a remote work environment
Responsibilities
- Serve as a project engineer in the planning and execution of local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules
- Conduct engineering analysis and design
- Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and specifications
- Apply engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- May assign work to junior engineers or other staff
- Depending on the experience level of the selected candidate, this role may be involved in other various responsibilities, such as project management
