Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
  • 5+ years of relevant roadway/highway design engineering experience
  • Experience working on SCDOT roadway design projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a remote work environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project engineer in the planning and execution of local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Conduct engineering analysis and design
  • Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and specifications
  • Apply engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • May assign work to junior engineers or other staff
  • Depending on the experience level of the selected candidate, this role may be involved in other various responsibilities, such as project management
