Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in rules engine development, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Certification in business rules management systems or project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master)
- Expertise in BRMS platforms such as Drools, IBM ODM, or Red Hat Decision Manager
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages
- Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies, including data modeling
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Excellent problem-solving skills focused on scalable, maintainable solutions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of rules engineers in designing, developing, and implementing business rules systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions with organizational goals and compliance standards
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of business rules using platforms like Drools, IBM ODM, or similar tools
- Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes
- Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and support professional development
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of rules engine solutions
- Manage project plans, timelines, and team deliverables to meet deadlines
- Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Document technical solutions and provide training for end-users and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
- Familiarity with VA environment is a plus
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
- Azure Certified Cloud Practitioner or any related certification
