Join Aerospike as a technically strong Sales Engineer to contribute to the sales of our real-time data platform products and services. You will maintain in-depth product knowledge, assist in closing sales, and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical clients. Success requires strong sales and customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and the drive to meet sales goals. This pre-sales role involves preparing technical presentations, discussing system requirements with customers and engineers, and collaborating with sales teams. You will also generate leads, follow up on contacts, and secure orders, while researching and modifying products to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate is a great listener with a talent for solving technical challenges.
Requirements
- Possess excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Possess excellent customer-facing skills directed toward C-Level and Developers
- Have Linux experience
- Have knowledge of Databases; NoSQL, Relational, Distributed, MPP
- Be a self-starter: able to assess, prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision
- Be able to work well under pressure
- Have knowledge of Hadoop; Spark, HBase, HDFS, Hive, Impala
- Possess independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Understand the complexities of mission-critical applications
- Be able to provide feedback field requirements to product management and engineering
- Be able to enable customers and partners through Meetups, βBeer and Curryβ, Training sessions and Hack-a-Thons
- Have knowledge of Knowledge Graph, Timeseries, and Feature Stores
- Possess strong coding skills in at least one language: Java, C/C++, Python, Go, etc
Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers
- Discuss equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
- Generate high-quality sales leads, follow up after initial contact, and secure and renew orders
- Research, develop, and identify modifying products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs
- Help customers who have problems with installed products and recommend best practices for upgrades
- Solicit and log client feedback and evaluate the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers
- Identify areas for improvement and communicate these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management, including product managers
- Set and achieve sales goals and quotas
- Train other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services
Preferred Qualifications
- Have knowledge of Databases; Aerospike, Yugabyte, Cockroach, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Couchbase, etc
- Have knowledge of Cloud; AWS, Microsoft, Google
- Have experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Have Compute knowledge; Networking, CPUs, SSDs, Memory, etc
- Be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Have previous experience working for a small to medium business
