Sales Manager

Summary

Join Newspack, a part of Automattic, as an experienced sales manager to drive lead generation, support partnership managers, and contribute to sales strategy development. You will manage daily sales operations, evolve sales and growth strategies, qualify prospects, and help move prospects through the sales pipeline. Responsibilities include facilitating sales forecasting meetings, identifying potential prospects through various channels, increasing Newspack's industry visibility, representing Newspack at industry events, and maintaining sales and marketing materials. The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated sales and marketing experience with proven results, strong organizational skills, initiative, and effective communication abilities. Requirements

• Have demonstrated sales and marketing experience, with proven results
• Have a strong sense of organization and follow-through, and are comfortable moving between strategic planning and day-to-day operations
• Are capable of taking initiative, being proactive, and driving business results without significant supervision
• Have excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Can communicate complex ideas effectively – verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day sales and revenue operations
• Work with the team to help evolve sales and growth strategies
• Qualify prospects to ensure they are a good fit
• Help sales leadership and partnership managers move prospects through various stages of the sales pipeline and maintain a steady deal flow
• Facilitate weekly sales forecasting meetings
• Identify potential prospects via industry conferences, sponsorship opportunities, email marketing and content marketing campaigns
• Work with business leads to increase Newspack’s visibility across the industry
• Represent Newspack at industry events
• Maintain sales and marketing collateral

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with/interest in news and publishing
• Experience creating new and/or managing existing collateral materials (Pitch decks/materials of various lengths)
• Experience with WordPress in a content management/marketing/publishing context (engineering experience not required)
