Senior 2D Artist

Summary

Join Voodoo, a leading mobile game publisher, as a 2D Artist in a newly established internal studio. You will play a key role in developing Cup Heroes, a promising mobile game, by supporting the Art Director, creating concept art and 2D assets, integrating assets in Unity, and proposing creative ideas to enhance player engagement. This position offers the chance to significantly impact a project with established momentum. The role requires proven experience as a 2D Artist on shipped mobile games, excellent understanding of 2D art fundamentals, versatility in various 2D art styles, and familiarity with Unity. Strong character design and animation skills are preferred, along with proficiency in generative workflows and a keen eye for mobile game trends. The position can be Paris-based or fully remote within CET time ±2h. Voodoo offers best-in-class compensation and other benefits according to the country of residence.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a 2D Artist on shipped mobile games
• Excellent understanding of 2D art fundamentals
• Versatility to work within a range of stylised 2D art styles
• Familiarity with Unity
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support the Art director in the ideation and execution of the game’s vision
• Create concept art for characters, environments, props and VFX
• Create polished illustrations and 2D assets
• Integrate and set up 2D assets in Unity ensuring optimal performance on mobile devices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest 2D art techniques, production tools and workflows
• Propose creative ideas to boost player engagement and improve the user experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong character design skills are a bonus
• Proficiency in 2D animation is a bonus
• Proficiency in cutting edge generative workflows, and how to best leverage them within your workflow
• A keen eye for emerging mobile game trends with the ability to creatively deconstruct and learn from success cases
