Summary

Softrams is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team, supporting multiple clients with various facets of operational accounting. The position requires proficiency in Unanet and QuickBooks, experience with government contracting, and adherence to DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and CAS standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or degree in a related field combined with relevant accounting experience
  • 7+ years of accounting experience working with various ERP systems
  • Proficiency in automated accounting system software and spreadsheet applications, specifically Unanet and QuickBooks
  • Experience with Accounting, Timekeeping, and Expense Reporting for Government Contractors
  • Understanding and experience with adhering to DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and CAS standards related to government contracts
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, adheres to deadlines, responsive to client and management requirements
  • Extremely detail orientated with strong analytical skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government contracting regulations (FAR)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work on multiple engagements with competing schedules and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate and communicate with other team members to achieve successful results
  • Advanced understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers and financial statements
  • Exhibits strong ethics, positive attitude, and calm demeanor under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Prepares day-to-day and month-end close entries including revenue, payroll, prepaid expenses, unbilled accounts receivable, and accrued liabilities
  • Prepares complex reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts, as needed
  • Assists with the month-end and year-end closing process
  • Validates and enters accounts payable for various contracts, task orders, and general operations of The Company
  • Analyzes project costs/expenses for compliance with the contractual requirements and Government regulations
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client and obtains a working knowledge of the client's accounting software
  • Assists external auditors and tax accountants with preparing schedules, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing additional data
  • Assists in the preparation of the client's year-end 1099 submissions
  • Recommends, designs, and implements department controls and procedures
  • Communicates with clients on an ongoing basis
