Senior AI/ML Engineer

Summary

Join Lyra Health as a Sr. AI/ML Engineer and contribute to building generative AI-powered solutions. You will be responsible for creating backend infrastructure, deploying applications in Kubernetes clusters, managing databases, and collaborating with stakeholders. This role offers the flexibility of working from our Burlingame, CA headquarters, hybrid, or fully remote within the US. Lyra values impact, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience delivering production ready AI/ML products
• Ability to write high-quality code in Python
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Experience working with Docker and deploying applications to Kubernetes
• Experience with relational and low-latency databases
• Experience working with Celery
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally in Github Actions
• A desire to learn new technologies quickly
• A love of building systems from scratch
• A track record of making quality vs. deadline tradeoffs in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to generate consensus and buy-in within the team
• Organizational skills and the ability to simplify complex problems and prioritize what matters most for the sake of the team and the business

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team working on building generative AI powered solutions
• Create the necessary backend infrastructure to enable scalable, resilient and highly performant solutions
• Deploy and manage various applications in our Kubernetes clusters
• Deploy and manage various databases and document stores for AI enabled solutions
• Work with stakeholders on requirements and solutions for AI/ML backend infrastructure
• And of course, you will be coding every day!

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) based solutions
• Experience setting up and maintaining vector databases
• Experience evaluating context specific LLM responses
• Experience working with tools such as Haystack or Langchain
• Experience building solutions on cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
• Experience working with highly sensitive data in a healthcare environment
