Summary
Join JumpCloud's Enterprise Data and Analytics team as a Senior Data Engineer! This remote role, based in Mexico, is crucial in driving core reporting by developing data pipelines, curating and modeling data, and designing databases. You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to support business and analytics insights. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, possesses advanced SQL and database design skills, and excels in stakeholder management. This role involves mentoring other analysts and engineers, contributing to strategic planning, and staying current on industry trends. Requirements
- Possess advanced knowledge and experience in SQL and relational databases
- Possess advanced knowledge in database design, data modeling, data infrastructure, data pipelines, and ELT process to support analytics and business operations
- Possess advanced understanding of coding and markup languages and can create complex queries from multiple data sources, views, and tables and have an understanding of our company's data architecture and how to apply it
- Possess advanced understanding and experience with scripting languages such as Python (numpy, pandas)
- Possess intermediate analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis
- Possess understanding in one or more business Intelligence / data visualization tools
- Possess strong mentoring skills
- Possess strong attention to detail and desire to learn
- Possess effective stakeholder management skills and communication skills
- Possess effective project management and organizational skills
- Possess experience with Data Governance best practices
- Possess experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, unstructured, dynamic environment
- Possess a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
Responsibilities
- Drive large, impactful projects involving data pipelines, database design, data modeling, and data curation for optimized analytics and business use with involvement across various stakeholders, business units, and technical partners
- Own the outcomes of the analytics initiatives youβre leading
- Gather requirements and provide actionable recommendations to technical stakeholders, driving adoption and execution of recommendations
- Mentor and grow the other analysts and engineers across the organization
- Support team's project management, strategic decision-making, and long-term planning
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, database design, data modeling, and data governance and apply them to support our business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess Snowflake experience
- Possess DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, AWS, and GitHub experiences
- Possess Tableau experience
- Possess Agile experience
