Summary
Join Zoic Studios, a Visual Effects company specializing in high-end visual effects, as a Senior Animator! This role offers the option to work remotely from home in British Columbia or from our Vancouver studio. You will create engaging and naturalistic performances for CG characters and objects based on storyboards, audio, and director briefs. Responsibilities include taking shots from blocking to final animation, collaborating with directors and supervisors, meeting deadlines, and mentoring junior animators. The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of experience as a CG Character Animator in the entertainment industry and expertise in traditional animation principles. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills on an incredible stop-motion animated feature project.
Requirements
- 5-7+ yearsβ experience as a CG Character Animator in the entertainment industry
- Expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, performance, layout, and composition for feature film production
- Strong knowledge of Maya animation tools and workflow
- Experience working in a visual effects pipeline
- Experience working with motion capture data and crowds
- Firm grasp of technical animation issues including character effects and rigging
- All applicants must be residents of British Columbia, Canada
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada ie. Citizen, Permanant Resident, Open Work Permit
Responsibilities
- Take creatively complex shots from blocking through final animation
- Take creative direction from the Director and supervisors to ensure the highest quality of animation possible
- Meet deadlines as established by production
- Create animation clips for a shared animation library
- Assist in mentoring junior animators
- Advise production and technology teams on creation and management of animation toolsets, libraries, and software
- Perform other tasks related to CG animation including shot layouts, animating cameras, and props
- Produce work in accordance with the look and feel of a stop motion production while adhering to established style guidelines
- Maintain a consistent level of productivity while producing high-quality work

- British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $50 - $65 (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
