Summary
Join Instacart's Corporate Finance team as a Senior Associate and play a key role in shaping the company's financial future. You will drive financial forecasting, business planning, and strategic analysis, collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. This role involves developing financial models, making recommendations for strategic decisions, and supporting capital allocation. You will also communicate financial narratives to the board and investors. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance/Accounting, Business/Economics, Data Science, Mathematics or other related field
- 4-6 years of experience in a relevant field with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact
- High proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
- Strong attention to detail and project management / organizational skills
- Polished communication skills and comfort interfacing with executives
- Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders across an organization
- A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
Responsibilities
- Drive forecast cycle and key financial processes, including monthly forecasting, quarterly and annual financial target and goal setting, bi-annual operational planning, and long-range forecasting
- Leverage financial analyses, key performance indicators, and market trends to develop recommendations for strategic decision making on a weekly and monthly cadence
- Support pivotal capital allocation and investment decisions by utilizing knowledge of financial drivers, return on investment frameworks, sensitivity analyses, and tradeoffs vs. opportunities
- Collaborate with leaders within the Finance org, as well as various other functions across the company including Corporate Strategy, Legal, Business Development, Product, among others, to align our strategic roadmap with our broader financial goals
- Support development of business narrative for the Board of Directors and investors
- Create new or improve existing processes relating to financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision making
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for exploring and applying AI/automation tools and techniques to enhance financial forecasting, reporting, and analytical processes
- Experience in FP&A/Corporate Finance/Strategic Finance, investment banking, investing, consulting, equity research, or data science/analytics
- Prior experience with consumer marketplace businesses
- Public company experience
- Proficient in SQL
- Ability to work from our San Francisco or New York City office on occasion
