Join Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC) as a Commercial Trucking Insurance Underwriter/Broker and contribute to our innovative, data-driven approach to commercial insurance. This role involves evaluating and managing a high volume of commercial trucking accounts, collaborating with agents and carriers, and making data-informed underwriting decisions. You will prepare market submissions, quote proposals, and monitor account performance. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with experience in commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage (trucking, commercial auto, or casualty lines preferred)
  • Experience in both wholesale and/or retail brokerage settings
  • Active Property & Casualty license required; Surplus Lines license is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new and renewal commercial trucking accountsโ€”up to 40 per weekโ€”with premiums ranging from $50,000 to $100,000+
  • Analyze risk using loss runs, MVRs, CAB reports, SAFER scores, FMCSA data, and other relevant underwriting materials
  • Make eligibility and pricing recommendations in alignment with underwriting guidelines and carrier appetites
  • Prepare comprehensive market submissions, quote proposals, and coverage comparisons
  • Review policies, binders, and endorsements for completeness and accuracy before client delivery
  • Communicate effectively with retail agents and internal stakeholders to gather complete and accurate risk data
  • Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive terms, leveraging existing market relationships
  • Track performance of bound accounts to identify profitability issues or loss trends
  • Address billing, endorsement, cancellation, and invoicing issues in partnership with Premium Accounting
  • Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of claims to the appropriate departments
  • Maintain well-organized and compliant electronic documentation of all submissions and carrier communications
  • Partner with actuarial, accounting, and risk management teams to support pricing strategy, auditing, and planning
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and carrier appetite shifts
  • Perform administrative tasks such as document scanning, filing, and recordkeeping as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional designations (e.g., CIC, CPCU, AU) strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, IMS) a plus
