Senior Business Analyst

Summary

Join the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) as a Business Analyst for a 3-year contract starting September 2, 2025! This role will focus on analyzing business processes and implementing technology solutions for human services programs like SNAP, TANF, Child Support, and Child Welfare. The position requires a minimum of 20 years of experience in business analysis, deep knowledge of human services systems, and proven expertise as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will have experience within Mississippi state government. Remote or onsite work in Jackson, MS is available. A fingerprint background check is required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in business analysis roles
• Deep knowledge and expertise in human services systems (SNAP, TANF, Child Support, Child Welfare)
• Proven ability to function as a subject matter expert across multiple programs and systems

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for systems supporting various human services programs, including: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Child Support Services, Child Welfare, and Other related programs
• Analyze business processes
• Identify areas for improvement
• Support the implementation of technology solutions aligned with program requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• Experience with enterprise application environments such as WebLogic
• Familiarity with public sector processes and regulatory requirements
