Summary

Join Maravai LifeSciences as a Senior Business Development Manager and drive sales growth in Cambridge, MA. Develop and maintain key strategic accounts, fostering collaborations with key opinion leaders (KOLs). Expand core and custom revenue, increase profitability and market share, and build long-term partnerships. This role requires identifying and executing strategic initiatives to exceed revenue targets, developing deep knowledge of the territory and client base, and maintaining current knowledge of mRNA, oligo, and bioconjugation applications. You will actively contribute to Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives and support brand and product awareness. The position involves collaborating with internal teams and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in Molecular Biology, Genomics and/or Biologic CDMO sales and/or business development. Experience with emerging biotech and established biopharma a plus
  • Proven track record of demonstrated success in a broad range of areas including, but not limited to business development, marketing, sales
  • Excellent computer software skills with demonstrable expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Saleforce.com
  • Proficiency with verbal and written communication in English. Strong presentation skills required
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills
  • Travel up to 40% of the time to support sales, business development activities, conferences, and training
  • Ability to work independently in a home office

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and marketing efforts by identifying, developing, and executing strategic initiatives to meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Establish and cultivate high-level strategic relationships to develop new Academic, OEM, diagnostic, life science, and therapeutic accounts
  • Develop deep knowledge of the territory and client base to enable consistent, accurate opportunity assessment and precise sales forecasting
  • Maintain critical current knowledge of mRNA, oligo and bioconjugation applications and trends via attendance at key conferences, meetings, and symposia
  • Actively contribute to Voice of Customer (VOC) to inform marketing strategies and tactics that drive sales of core and custom products
  • Support the growth of brand and product awareness in the nucleic acid space through impactful educational and marketing campaigns, with a focus on custom oligos, mRNA, bioconjugation, reagents, and services
  • Leverage internal resources to resolve client issues and advance revenue opportunities
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with both external and internal stakeholders; collaborate with internal teams to develop high-quality, accurate customer-facing documents, including contracts and supply agreements

Preferred Qualifications

Working language proficiency in an additional language is not required but would be a plus
