Summary
Join Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. as a Senior Chemistry Consultant in our Nuclear business unit, primarily focusing on BWR chemistry consulting for the energy industry. Support the Chemistry Services team in various services, including open and closed cooling water, primary chemistry systems, troubleshooting, assessments, and chemistry-related equipment and engineering support. Collaborate with a dynamic team, potentially utilizing other technical expertise within Structural Integrity based on project needs. Perform analysis on projects ranging from chemical optimization and transient modeling to EPRI research and utility troubleshooting. This full-time position offers the flexibility of being fully remote or office-based. The role involves participation in utility assessments and equipment upgrades, business development activities, and research initiatives, along with report writing and review.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry supporting Chemistry and/or Engineering efforts (specifically BWRs)
- BS degree in Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or other related science
- Project Management experience with multiple work groups
- Ability to travel to support clients and business development efforts (~20%)
- Strength in writing technical reports and communication skills
- Ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA) as required
Responsibilities
- Participation in utility assessments (e.g., chemistry related system optimization, chemical optimization, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Participation in utility equipment upgrades (e.g., PLC panel upgrades, chemical injection skids, etc.)
- Participation in business development activities, including learning the business model that makes SI successful
- Participation in EPRI and SI related research initiatives
- Writing and reviewing reports generated from assessments and research
Preferred Qualifications
- >10 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry supporting Chemistry and/or Engineering efforts including troubleshooting and assessment support (specifically BWRs)
- Previous qualified as a chemistry technician, staff chemist, staff engineer, or Senior Reactor Operator license
- Experience with SampleIQ and Nuclear Chemistry Applications (BWRVIA, etc.)
- Significant Project Management experience
- Significant Business Development experience in the Nuclear Industry
